Community Connections is a direct service subsidiary of MHAI.  At Community Connections, we connect individuals to their communities by linking them to vocational and habilitation services.  Using a strengths based approach, staff work with individuals to determine personal preferences, interests and abilities in order to find meaningful community experience as well as placement into employment.

Community Connections is where:

...individuals are connected with their communities through positive employment experiences;

...individual differences are regarded as strengths;

...local businesses are provided with qualified employees and the support to accompany them as needed;

...we believe everyone, regardless of their disability, has a right to work.

The Community Connections Employment program provides employment opportunities to individuals with disabilities.  Our mission is to increase each individual’s vocational independence and enhance their ability to be productive in their community.  Our focus is to assist job seekers in three main areas:

    • Choosing a job goal that matches their abilities and preferences;
    • Getting a job through training in effective job seeking techniques;
    • Keeping their job through long-term support and assistance.

Our program is staffed by certified Employment Consultants who work as a team to implement the job readiness curriculum, to perform individual job development, to find a suitable job placement, and to provide long-term support to facilitate job retention.  All of our Consultants are committed to effectively matching individuals with jobs and providing local businesses with productive employees.

On-going employee/employer support and assistance is provided as a source of help in dealing with issues that may arise.

    • Contribute to your community
