“Recovery: It Makes a Difference”
As you may know, DMHA has partnered with Mental Health America of Indiana to host a series of Town Hall Meetings across the state in order to have a “community conversation” about the transformation message to promote recovery and reduce stigma – “Recovery: It Makes A Difference”.
Mental Health America of Indiana is working with local key stakeholders including consumers, persons in recovery, family members, providers, policy makers and advocates to plan the local meetings. Each Town Hall Meeting will include a panel presentation. Panel members may include a consumer, person in recovery or a family member, a policy maker, a practitioner and a Mental Health America staff person to talk about the necessity of understanding that recovery is possible for people with mental illnesses and/or addictive disorders. The Director of the Division of Mental Health and Addiction will also present the new model of care and talk about the Division’s commitment to the recovery message.
