The mission of Mental Health America of Indiana is to work for the mental health of all citizens and for victory over mental illness through public education, advocacy and public health reform.

Heroes in Recovery

Heroes for Recovery is a recognition program made possible by Mental Health America of Indiana in partnership with Choices. This program celebrates the dedication and commitment of those that truly promote recovery of individuals in their ongoing treatment of serious and persistent mental illness.

MHAI Legal Services

Mental Health America has a legal service center to works with clients to make sure that they get the representation they need and gain access to services required to protect their rights.

The Mental Health America Training Institute Located at 1441 North Delaware Street, the MHA Training Institute hosts numerous training events throughout the year designed to train consumers, people in recovery, family members and professionals about mental health and addiction care.

Why Support MHAI?

Across Indiana, approximately 1 in 4 people have a mental illness during a given year. When you add the number of people with addictions issues, the numbers are astonishing. Unfortunately, stigma concerning mental illness and addictions still exists and result in people not seeking treatment.
